A wonderful Val Saint Lambert cranberry cut-to-clear crystal conical vase dating from the 1930s, attributed to the celebrated designer Charles Graffart and his renowned model Semiramis (cut CG479). The vase retains its original maker’s label to the base, confirming its authenticity. Beautifully executed in richly coloured amethyst crystal, the piece is expertly cut through to clear crystal, revealing a series of crisp, geometric motifs characteristic of the Art Deco period. The elegant cone form enhances the precision of the hand-cut decoration, creating striking contrasts of light and depth across the surface. Charles Graffart, one of the most important designers associated with Val Saint Lambert, was responsible for many of the firm’s most iconic Art Deco creations. This vase exemplifies his refined aesthetic—combining bold geometric design with the exceptional craftsmanship for which Val Saint Lambert crystal is internationally renowned.
