An exceptional Art Deco vase by Val Saint Lambert, model “Achille”, listed in the firm’s 1938 catalogue. This striking piece is executed in prune coloured overlay crystal, hand cut through to clear crystal with the HF205 cutting pattern, and retains the original maker’s pastille to the base. The vase displays a powerful geometric composition of precisely cut vertical and horizontal lines arranged in perfect symmetry, creating a bold, architectural effect characteristic of late 1930s Art Deco design. The crisp hand-cut decoration reveals the clear crystal beneath the coloured overlay, producing dramatic contrasts of light, depth, and colour. This model was designed by the renowned Val Saint Lambert designer Hubert Fouarge, one of the manufactory’s most influential figures.
