A rare and highly desirable mid-20th century rectangular coffee table by Maison Jansen, Paris, circa 1960. The table features an elegant silvered bronze and steel frame in a classic baluster form with gently splayed legs, supporting the original eglomised mirrored glass top with a raised gallery edge. The combination of mirrored surfaces and silvered metal gives the piece a sophisticated, light-reflecting quality typical of the period. Condition commensurate with age. The original mirror plate has some surface wear and damage to the edges as photographed.
Founded in 1880 by Jean‑Henri Jansen, the celebrated Parisian design house Maison Jansen became internationally known for its refined interpretations of Neoclassical and traditional French styles. Furniture from this prestigious firm remains highly sought after for its craftsmanship, elegance, and enduring decorative appeal.
