A lovely example of a French mahogany and fruitwood bouillotte table, circa 1920–1940, crafted in the Louis XVI style. The table features a white Carrara marble top surrounded by a finely pierced brass gallery and is supported by elegant, slender, square tapered legs. The bouillotte table takes its name from the fashionable 18th-century French card game “Bouillotte” (pronounced boo-YAHT), a precursor to modern poker, for which these tables were originally designed. A timeless blend of form and function—originally made for the popular card game yet equally refined and practical as a side or accent table in any setting.
