A stylish French mid-century coffee or side table dating from around 1940 – 1960. The piece features a striking green marble top, likely Verde Alpi, from the Aosta Valley, framed by an elegant gilt twisted rope – effect border. The base is crafted in wrought iron with graceful scrolling legs, joined by matching twisted rope–effect stretchers that echo the detail of the top surround. The decorative ironwork is reminiscent of designs by Gilbert Poillerat and reflects the refined curves associated with the Louis XV Revival style. A sophisticated and timeless piece that works equally well as a coffee table or occasional side table. The table is in very good condition.
