Gilded metal thread and silk embroidered panel from a church altar c.1820.Likely made by nuns who were known for their wonderful work, this would have taken an age to make..all handstitiched and the added stitched in padding (generally using cotton) makes the embroidery raised and three dimensional.This would make a glorious bedhead.
