Bronze “”Head of Child”” on a marble base signed Jul Lagae (1862 Ð 1931) a Belgian sculptor and medallist. In 1888, he won the Prix de Rome and spent four years on scholarship in Italy and abroad.Lagae is best known for his Four Ages of Man, at the Botanical Garden of Brussels, circa 1898 and Brabant Raising the National Flag, on the triumphal arch at the Cinquantenaire.
