The Q U E E N' S Room in Fontainebleau! ⚜️⁠

"The Queen's room at the Chateau de Fontainebleau has been in its current location since the 17th century. She has been moved from the oval court to the garden. It is notable for an eclectic decoration of the last queens of the Old Regime namely: The ceiling dates back to Anne of Austria, the alcove, the trumpet and panels of Marie Leszczynska and the doors of Marie-Antoinette. This room was completely modified in 1787 by Pierre Rousseau for Marie-Antoinette, who unfortunately will never sleep there when it's finished. The bed, made by Sené and Laurent, was not delivered until June 1805. The railing it's signed Jacob. The evening was ordered by Empress Joséphine, who ordered a Louis XVI-style evening preserved in the furniture store. The whole thing is enhanced by Savournin and the widow Baudoin who make folding of the bedroom, embroidery of the bedside and quilt of the sofa.⁠
The furniture pieces are remarkable. They all bring up the end of the old regime. 4 great patterns succeed: musical instrument patterns, birds (partridge and birds), and landscapes under trees. We are in this room as much as the Queen's and Empress Josephine's. It is remarkable because it is the only room of a most majestic French sovereign still preserved with a bed, made and commissioned by Marie-Antoinette, these royal beds are so rare that we no longer preserve today" 📷️ and copy by @jbperraudin⁠
