From September 2024...."H E R E are a few glimpses of one of the projects which makes me most proud and happy, one of our earliest projects in the office, in fact - for a fantastic client who we worked with for almost ten years to create a wonderful house by extending a fine old listed rectory in Oxfordshire. The work you see in these few images is all completely new"

The house is featured in the beautiful issue of @houseandgardenuk , and do make sure you rush out immediately to get a copy as it’s also got @ritakonig wonderful new flat and a lovely project by my friend @beataheuman These photos are not the House & Garden ones - those are taken by @michaelsinclair are completely superb, and will only be featured in print in the magazine - please see if you can find a copy and have a look. They are really beautiful, I’m captivated by how brilliantly Michael captured the calm, architectural quality of the house.

These photos are a few of my own which you will also find, of course, in one of the key chapters of An English Vision, published by @rizzolibooks on the 24th September - not long to wait now.

Thank you to @hattabyng @liz_elliot_hg @emilysenior for making this story come to life, to @cliveaslet for writing so well about the building and project, and to our lovely clients, who are gentle, private people, for allowing us to glimpse these rooms - it’s greatly appreciated to be able to show what we’ve done together over the last decade. With the studio the work was brilliantly carried out by our design director, @rupertcunningham , and interiors director, @tamarahales working with the client - beautifully conceived results like this are not easy to achieve, and require a massive amount of effort and dedication. "The ancestral gallery of the Munich’s Residenz. This long space was ordered the Prince Elector Karl Albrecht in 1726 to remember visitors the ancestors and the big #history of Wittelsbach family. In this project were involved best #artists, being the #design a creation of Joseph Effner and François Cuvilliés. The hands behind this project were Wenzeslaus Miroffsky in the gilt carving and on the wall stucco Johann Baptist Zimmermann of Wessobrunn.⁠
The result is an amazing puzzle of more than 100 portraits and one of the most amazing rocaille rooms over the world."⁠

N E A R L Y a year ago....."Sunday evening in Dorset, the church bells and the sunset chorus of high May, perhaps the most beautiful sound in the world.⁠

We’ve just taken delivery of four garden obelisks that I designed for Charlie, to provide a bit of height and structure to the cottage garden where he had to rip out the buxus balls which had been destroyed by blight. They are pale custard yellow and beautifully made for us by a joiner in Norfolk. Soon there will be climbing plants clambering up them. They’ve made such a huge difference to the whole space, incredible.⁠

Down in the meadow it’s filled with cow parsley, completely wonderful, perhaps my favourite plant of all. It’s been very good this year". @mccormickcharlie via @benpentreath⁠
