V I L L A Delle Peschiere...... "An ochre summe V I L L A Delle Peschiere......
"An ochre summer residence in Mannerist style, Villa Pallavicino delle Peschiere was built in 1560 for Tobia Pallavicino just outside Genoa’s city walls, but now absorbed by the city’s outskirts. The architect may have been Galeazzo Alessi (d. 1572), who came from Perugia, but who came to Genoa to work and is responsible for many of the city’s palaces. A speciality was apparently building on slopes requiring differently designed and arranged front and back façades. At Villa delle Peschiere Alessi’s focus was to connect the gardens and the interior in a novel way, with more entrances than usual. In the house, the extraordinarily rich and inventive stucco decoration was applied by Marcello Sparzo (d. 1616); frescoes on the piano nobile by Giovanni Battista Castello. @palazzofoundation @elluxella #villadellepeschiere thanks #villapallavicinodellepeschiere @monicaschettinophotography and @filippo_buccheri" via @amjadrauf1

P A R K Sanssouci ....."Can I interest you in a li P A R K Sanssouci ....."Can I interest you in a little Chinoiserie?
During the 17th and 18th centuries it became quite fashionable in Europe to design rooms and even whole palaces drawing inspirations from the Far East, particularly China and to a lesser extent Japan. It focuses on subjects that were thought by Europeans to be typical of the East Asians cultures. However, few people had actually visited those places so they took some artistic liberties, to say the least.

One such example is the Chinese House in Potsdam's Sanssouci Park. It was garden architect Johann Gottfried Büning who, between 1755 and 1764, designed the pavilion in a mixture of Rococo and said Chinoiserie style. He drew inspiration not just from China but also from France as the Chinese House is modeled on the Maison du Trèfle in the gardens of the Château de Lunéville" 📷️ and copy via @castleholic

"B E T W E E N pleasure and luxury: François de C "B E T W E E N pleasure and luxury: François de Cuvilliés built the Falconlust hunting castle in Brühl between 1729 and 1739 on behalf of Clemens August, Elector and Archbishop of cologne

A masterpiece of the early Rococo and a place for dispersion, elegance and the great passion of the Prince: the falcon hunt.

Designed in the style of a Maison de Plaisance, the rooms unfold an intimate, familiar character - quite different from the representative Augustusburg Castle. Chinese paintwork, a mirror cabinet and show the finest equipment: Here you didn't only reside, you enjoyed.

Have you ever been there? Or is Falconlust still on your list? Write it in the comments or save the post for your next visit to the castle" 📸 and copy via @palace.reflections

This picture perfect manor was home to the Mitford sisters between 1919 and 1926. In fact much of Nancy Mitford’s fictional Alconleigh in her novel The Pursuit of Love is heavily based on Asthall Manor. Isn’t she a beauty??

The concept of “teamwork” already existed in the 18th century.

Charles III was able to lead large teams of artists. A beautiful example is Gasparini’s salon, where several workshops were involved:
