A French circa 1970’s silver plated Art Deco style champagne bucket stamped Ercuis. Ercuis is one of the premier silversmiths in France founded in 1867. Featuring a classic cylindrical form with twin side handles and a polished mirror finish, this substantial bucket is ideal for chilling champagne or wine and makes a sophisticated table or bar accessory. Beautifully crafted with the quality and understated refinement for which Ercuis is renowned. It is in good condition with one ding to the base as pictured. Ercuis is one of France’s most prestigious silversmithing houses, founded in 1867 by Abbé Adrien Céleste Pillon in the village of Ercuis, about 50 km north of Paris. The company initially produced religious silverware before expanding into luxury tableware, barware, and decorative silver-plated objects. Over the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Ercuis gained an international reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and exhibited at major Paris World’s Fairs. The company became particularly known for its luxury silver and silver-plated wares used in grand hotels, ocean liners, and fine restaurants.
