$4,250.00
A refined well-made French or Belgian antique plafonnier, circa 1925 – 1935, featuring a beautifully carved white marble bowl suspended by three decorative gilt bronze chains. The gently flared marble shade displays subtle natural grey veining, while the gilt bronze mounts and finely cast ceiling rose add a touch of classical sophistication. The marble bowl is finished with an elegant gilt bronze fluted rosette beneath, centred by a finely cast acorn finial. Inspired by French Louis XVI decorative motifs, the rosette echoes the form of an opening flower, while the acorn symbolises strength and longevity. Beyond its decorative appeal, this beautifully detailed bronze mount conceals the central fixing, providing both structural support and a refined architectural finish. Designed to provide soft, diffused light, this timeless pendant is equally at home in both traditional and contemporary interiors. It would make an ideal statement light for an entrance hall, stairwell, dining room, or living space. It has been professionally rewired to New Zealand standards and is ready for installation.
