This antique Italian micromosaic metal standing crucifix features a silver-plated Corpus Christi and an ornate, rounded cross adorned with fine tesserae forming the image of the dove of peace – a traditional symbol of the Holy Spirit. Crafted in the intricate micromosaic technique, this piece is composed of tiny colored glass tiles arranged to create detailed designs. Crucifixes of this kind were highly sought after by travelers on the Grand Tour of Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries.
