A striking 19th-century French Baroque-style monstrance crafted in silver plate and vermeil (silver gilt), richly decorated with cherubs and traditional Eucharistic symbolism. The radiant sunburst design, characteristic of 19th-century French ecclesiastical silverwork, is surmounted by a cross. At its centre, the circular luna is framed by raised cherubs emerging from clouds and encircled by finely detailed wheat and grape motifs, symbolic of the Eucharist—the wheat representing the Host and the grapes representing the blood of Christ. Within the luna are four relics, preserved behind glass and retaining their original wax seal with the securing wires still intact. The stem is ornamented with a pair of silver-gilt embossed cherub heads, busts of little angels that protect the Sacred Heart with their wings. The shaped base features the Lamb of God, another important Christian symbol, and rests on four elegant scrolling feet. Combining devotional significance with ornate craftsmanship, this is a fine example of 19th-century French religious art.
